Nathan’s parents did a wonderful job with all the birthday party arrangements. It was a “Dol” party that I’ve never seen before. Very thoughtful, detail-oriented, stylish, creative and it was very lay back/cozy California style. Blessings to baby Nathan!

The Wedding Day : Bethany & Jeffrey @ Pasadena Covenant Church

One simple phrase to describe this wedding: “It was beautiful!” Emotionally stirring and spiritually moving wedding day it was. The family and friends were not hesitant to express their love and affection for the couple, they were much happy as the bride and groom. Blessings to Beth and Jeff! I pray that Jesus will be the center of attention, love and guidance in their marriage. His holy name will be praised and be lifted up by their unity and dedication. I’m very happy for them.

The SHINs @ Malibu Creek

The weather was perfect, not too cold nor too hot. The flowers and plants were at the beginning phase of blooming, the colors were very subtle, their stems and leaves were very tender. It was a gorgeous Spring day at Malibu Creek. The flowers, plants, trees, hiking trails, grass fields, mountains, hint of clouds, all were perfectly arranged and laid out for the SHINs to have their first “Lifestyle” Family portrait session. I believe our Creator God was behind all these unique arrangements and HE was pleased to see them out here. Nothing was staged, the SHINs were simply enjoying what the nature had to offer and I was there as a photographer to document what was unfolding in front of me. Baby Nathan showed a quite special interest to his surroundings and he couldn’t resist touching, smelling, seeing, feeling and tasting everything that was laid out in front of him. All his five senses were stimulated. I have a feeling that he will be a great artist someday or a writer filled with wild imaginations and innermost emotions. Thanks to the parents who helped him to acquire these attributes at early age by taking him to wonderful place like this… Many blessings to the Shin family!

Harrison’s “Dol” – First Birthday Party images are featured on Baby Lifestyles magazine! Such an honor. I hope baby Harrison would appreciate the images I captured for him on his first birthday when he becomes an adult. Perhaps, these images will be part of the “slide show” on his wedding day… I can totally imagine how the guests, family members, parents and especially his bride would laugh and giggle while watching the images during the wedding reception. Blessings to baby Harrison, his parents and his future “in-laws”!

Los Angeles Laker Girls Lunch Date at Carl’s Jr., Los Feliz, CA

I had a privilege to cover this corporate joint event between Los Angeles Laker Girls and Carl’s Jr. called, “Laker Girls Lunch Date at Carl’s Jr.” Thanks to my good friend Daniel Chou for the connection. A lot die-hard fans showed up to have their pictures taken with two beautiful and down-to-earth Laker Girls: Whitney & Natasha. Even a puppy had a glimpse of the Laker Girls.

The Story of Liss & Ray @ Venice Canal and Santa Monica Pier, CA

Liss and Ray, fun and adventure loving couple, celebrated their engagement in “California Style” at Venice Canal and Santa Monica pier. What started as a friendship grew into serious relationship and now, they’re at the “blossoming” stage as they prepare for the wedding day in April. Both were not hesitant nor afraid to reveal their goofy/silly sides when they were in front of my camera. In fact, it was very easy and natural because their chemistry as a couple was very transparent and honest. It truly was a reflection of their heart and attitude for each other. They just could not hide their emotion, and thankfully I was there to capture every little details. May their love and respect for each other continue to blossom well into their marriage… Blessings!

So thankful for this recognition. Wonmi & Jae Lifetstyle Engagement images have been published on Inspire by This : Wedding Inspiration/Idea webpage. The PR (Leila) at Inspire by This titled the post as: “Inspire by This Artistic Engagement Session” and acknowledged how the whole concept and setting were unique, adorable and cute. This is truly a “rewarding experience” for me personally as others taking notice of my passion in serving the couples with my God-given talent: photography. All blessings to the couple and all Glory to our Creator.

Food Photography session @ Backyard Outdoor Studio

So colorful, so tender and so tasty (found out about the “tasty” part after the session)! In my photography arrangements, I believe that the natural lighting (sunlight but indirect, diffused, soft lighting) is always the best choice to bring out the “lively” essence and “organic” form of the subject matter. I really enjoyed this backyard session and it reminded me how photography can be done creatively and not restricted to artificial studio lighting and technical setups. As long as you have a clear artistic direction, a camera becomes just a tool to express your creativity, it’s all in the concept and how you “perceive/see” things with your heart. These images will be used in menus and wall displays at the Red Tomato Pasta Café. I hope all the customers who enters the restaurant and sees the images would be carving for food and recognize the great work of our Creator. “For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.” -Psalm 92:4
